Whee! You get to see my cruddy drawings! Way back in October, Shojo Beat announced that they were going to give away a ton of BTSSB stuff -- it's the most awesome sweet lolita brand ever. The contest was to design your dream Lolita outfit. So, here's my design. Since BTSSB has had several story-lolita sets (The Wizard of Oz, Little Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella come to mind), I based mine off of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, one of my favorite books as a little girl. I took six scenes from the book and put them on the skirt of the dress surrounded by vines. There are roses and ruffles everywhere, but I tried not to use too much lace. The roses on her head are a comb meant to resemble a tiara.
I worked harder on this design than any other one, I think, because it's so detailed. I won't be able to make this (the scenes are embroidered and my machine can't do that) but I would love to wear it. I would love to hear some feedback! <3

That is a cool drawing.

[this is good] This is total love! You are too modest you know when it comes to your designs and work. I really like the secret garden idea. The colors are pretty and it is so detailed. I also like how you have the dress design drawn from different angles. ^___^ BTSSB is one of my favorite lolita brands. I also like Angelic Pretty and Metamorphose Temps De Fille. They are pretty similar. :-) I so hope yours wins! I will squeal if I see your design in the magazine. I hope they do announce it in the next issue. I am thinking about contributing something to the "Beat Box" section on the magazine??? I am no artist like you, but I was thinking of taking a pic of my completed California rolls and send that in. I will keep my fingers crossed that you win! <3

Thank you all for the compliments. I hope the judges will see it the same way!
Pooka, you should send it in! Cute food is so awesome. I love how Shojo Beat isn't just manga or Lolita or stuff, it also has recipes and how to draw and other cool stuff~.

That is a cute deisgn. I have two of their Alice in Wonderland theme prints. I really want the CInderella and Sleeping beauty ones but they are so expensive now that Baby doesn't sell them anymore.
